Neighbors of one home informed Rescue Without Borders about several puppies in need of help, as they lived in terrible abandonment conditions. Crystal Carson, the fund’s co-founder decided to take it on herself but when she arrived, she was truly shocked.
The house is located in Midland County in Texas, USA.
Not only do the dogs have no food or water to survive, but they are also confined to extremely small places where they cannot move and are exposed to waste and litter. Carson explained to residents that the dogs had to be taken away to save them, and that’s when the family revealed that what they had seen was just the beginning.
“ There are more dogs in the house. Some puppies.
Upon entering the house, they realized the terrible conditions these dogs were living in. The place is full of garbage and there is animal excrement everywhere. The owners of the house themselves teamed up and brought Carson and his team 12 puppies.
“ Three of them fit in my hand and I weigh 50 kg. My hands are not big. They were very swollen so we knew they were full of parasites and there were lots of fleas all over the body.”
Rescuers have brought 12 puppies and two mothers who are outside the house in the cage. Some of them were assigned to temporary homes so they could learn to integrate and recover from the bad lifestyle they were living, but the other puppies’ condition was so critical they had to taken immediately to the vet.
The dogs seemed to be constantly creeping out of every nook and cranny of the house, so the team decided to keep visiting the property for a week and within a few days they had rescued 13 more puppies.
“ The house was full of dirt . There was no carpet and the wood on the floor was full of dog urine. There was feces everywhere. The dogs hid in garbage piles , baskets and old sheets.
Finally, the rescuers managed to get all the dogs out ; and despite the hard experience that it meant to see so many puppies suffer in that terrible place, they can now celebrate that most of them have managed to recover and adapt to their new life.
Despite the best efforts of rescuers, several puppies lost their lives to parvovirus.
Jack and Diane were greeted by a couple who decided to open the door of their home for them. Carson has been truly surprised with the recovery that these two puppies have managed to have.
“They are already potty trained and have been socialized with humans and dogs. They went from being very scared to non-stop jumping all over the place ”
We raise our voices against the people who subject so many innocent animals to situations that are so dangerous to their health and we hope that measures will be taken to prevent this unacceptable animal abuse.
We invite you to share this note to celebrate the new life that all these puppies will be able to have thanks to the help of Carson and his team.
