Some generous individuals had fed this cat while it was roaming the streets, looking for a home. Some folks with a wicked heart poured acid on the face of this nice and loving cat in June, and the animal lost an eye as a result of their horrible deed.

The abandoned cat in the California desert only want food, love, and affection. After days of wandering in misery, he was discovered on the porch by a compassionate woman who promptly brought him to the vet.

“He roamed in misery for days before returning to the village cottage that was feeding him. He brought him to a vet right away, who had no idea what they were doing.”

The vet had no idea what he was doing, so he gave the cat medication, tested him for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), which came back positive, and recommended euthanasia.

But the family who had rescued Tommy would not allow it, so the woman contacted Milo’s Sanctuary, a non-profit rescue organization that specializes in the care of cats with special needs, elderly cats, cats with terminal illnesses, and cats who have been abused and require someone to care for them, love them, and understand them.

The shelter stepped in right away and dubbed the cat ‘Sir Thomas Trueheart.’ They took him to the vet, where he was treated for nearly a month with antibiotics, painkillers, and bandages to aid in the healing of the wound. He got skin surgery as well.

On the sanctuary’s website, workers noted, “Despite everything, Tommy was very courageous and purred and kissed the people that cared for him.”

He can’t help but shower others with love and trust, despite the fact that his pity nearly lost him his life. Tommy is now in foster care, where he hopes to recuperate and find a permanent family.
