Jimmy, 85, and his wife live in Puerto Rico. A big number of homeless cats reside in his area. He adores animals and want to aid them, even to the point of being hospitable to them; but, his wife does not want them to enter his home.
Syl, his granddaughter, told The Dodo that her grandfather feeds the homeless cats near his tool area at the back of the house, where her grandma does not go.
She said:
“This cat was extremely kind and bonded with my granddad.”
Jimmy had to keep his secret even more concealed when it turned out that the friendly cat was female and pregnant.
Jimmy’s wife reportedly refused to let him take the cat and her unborn children, but he went ahead and made sure they had a place to dwell in his shed nonetheless.
Jimmy had no misgivings about his decision once the kittens were born; his wife, on the other hand, was blissfully unconscious of what was going on.
Syl was not surprised to learn of his clandestine activities.
She said:
“My granddad is a wonderful man who has always enjoyed animals. So he’s not all that impressive .
Jimmy couldn’t keep his feline family a secret from his wife for long after the cat gave birth, despite his best attempts.
She found out three weeks after the kittens were born. Jimmy’s wife, who was presumably not pleased to find that her husband had transformed the apartment into a cat nursery without her knowledge, became much more accepting of the situation.
Syl said:
“She doesn’t mind if they stay there till they’re old enough to move out.”
The kittens’ beautiful tiny cheeks appear to melt people’s hearts.
