Zeus has always been a bit of a loose cannon. He’s always chasing his tail, goes insane when his mother attempts to make the bed or change the linens, and has a knack for discovering the strangest hiding spots. His mother didn’t believe he could possible surprise her any more, but he recently proved her wrong.
Zeus’ mother, Valerie Goldsworthy, was cleaning when she suddenly realized she hadn’t seen Zeus in a long time. He usually follows her around from room to room, but he was unusually missing that day. Goldsworthy began casually checking about the home for him, but her casualness quickly changed to terror when she discovered Zeus had vanished.
Goldsworthy told The Dodo, “I looked in every room, behind mattresses, and under crates in the basement.” “I even peeked in the washer and dryer (hoping he wasn’t in there).” I peered under cupboards, walked up and down surrounding streets, looked under cars, looked in neighboring gardens… “At least, that’s what I thought.”
“I had previously stood in our balcony to obtain a better view of a distance away,” Goldsworthy explained. “That’s when Artemis, my other cat, sprang onto the balcony railing.” When I went to get Artemis, there was Zeus.”
Zeus had apparently been resting in a planter on the porch all those hours, blending in next to a plant the same color as his.
Zeus’ mother was pleased to finally locate him and discover he’d been safe all along, but Zeus couldn’t understand the hoopla.
“I patted him and loved him (since he was lost and now recovered),” Goldsworthy recounted, “but he only opened his eye to look at me and then went back to sleep.”
