Unveiling the Powerhouse: 350-Powered 1951 Chevrolet Styleline Sedan Delivery
The presented Styleline sedan delivery model from 1951 by Chevrolet has undergone a restoration and customization during a prior ownership. The refurbishment work included the installation of a 350ci V8 engine and a three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission. The vehicle’s appearance was also enhanced with a new red exterior paint paired with red and black upholstery. Notable additions encompass 15″ Rally-style wheels, front disc brakes, an aftermarket wiring harness, PerTronix electronic ignition, a high-mount BrakeLighter brake light, painted shop advertisement logos, a windshield visor, tinted windows, as well as chrome-finished bumpers and trim.
According to reports, the current seller’s uncle acquired this modified Chevrolet over twenty years ago, and the seller themselves took possession of it in December 2021. The Sedan Delivery comes complete with its owner’s manual, assorted literature, and a clean Virginia title, all registered under the seller’s name.
Originally painted in Thistle Gray (444) at the factory, the delivery body underwent a transformation in a previous ownership, now sporting a red finish. The side panels are adorned with shop advertisement graphics, and additional exterior embellishments consist of a chrome grille, bumpers, and beltline trim. The vehicle is also equipped with a sun visor, tinted windows, and a J&L Enterprises BrakeLighter high-mount brake light installed in the rear window.
Silver 15″ Rally-style wheels wear polished trim rings and chrome center caps and are mounted with Goodyear Eagle ST tires measuring 245/60 up front and Goodyear Eagle GTII tires measuring 275/60 out back. Stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes.
The cab houses a replacement split bench seat upholstered in red button-tufted cloth with vinyl trim contrasted by black button-tufted vinyl door panels. Black carpets line the footwells, and additional appointments include Vintage Air climate control, a center armrest, a lockable glove compartment, and a Sanyo cassette stereo linked to speakers in the rear cargo area.
The three-spoke steering wheel is discolored and frames a Stewart-Warner gauge cluster with an 85-mph speedometer and readouts for coolant temperature, battery voltage, oil pressure, and fuel level along with a Sunpro tachometer mounted atop the dashboard. The replacement five-digit mechanical odometer shows 26k miles, and true mileage is unknown.
The rear cargo area is carpeted and has been fitted with button-tufted vinyl side panels. An Optima Red Top battery is housed below the cargo floor. The seller notes the battery will drain if the truck is left unattended for extended periods.
The 350ci V8 was installed under prior ownership and features a Ron Francis Wire Works wiring harness, a Holley Street Dominator intake manifold, a four-barrel carburetor, and a PerTronix Ignitor II electronic ignition. The starter was replaced in July 2023.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission that is reportedly fitted with a performance shift kit. A dual exhaust system with DynoMax components has been installed.
